UNESCO Multisectoral Regional office in the Arab States concluded on 29 June 2023 a Training of Trainers on English Language, bringing together exceptionally talented trainers from the Center for Educational Research and Development (CERD) in partnership with Amideast Lebanon and Education Cannot Wait.
This intensive training initiative aims to equip trainers with the latest methodologies, resources, and tools needed to enhance English language instruction. The trainers, chosen for their expertise and commitment to education, are actively participating in workshops, interactive sessions, and collaborative activities designed to foster their professional growth and pedagogical skills.
Throughout the programme, participants have immersed themselves in a dynamic learning environment, engaging in discussions on effective teaching practices, exploring innovative approaches to language instruction, and exchanging experiences and insights with their fellow trainers. The diverse backgrounds and experiences of the trainers contribute to a rich and vibrant training atmosphere, fostering cross-cultural understanding and knowledge sharing.
The collaboration between UNESCO, CERD, Amideast Lebanon and Education Cannot Wait highlights the strong commitment to advancing English language education in Lebanon and beyond. By empowering trainers with the necessary expertise, this programme strives to elevate the quality of English language instruction and ultimately enhance educational opportunities for students across the region.
As the Training of Trainers on English Language concluded, the participants are poised to become catalysts of positive change in their communities, imparting their newfound knowledge and skills to fellow educators and making a lasting impact on English language learning.
UNESCO remains dedicated to promoting inclusive and quality education worldwide, and initiatives like the Training of Trainers on English Language play a crucial role in achieving this mission. By investing in the professional development of educators, we empower them to transform the educational landscape and pave the way for a brighter future.
Similarly, in line with these efforts, UNESCO recently distributed 810 stationery kits for learners and 51 recreational kits for teachers in the West Bank of Palestine. These essential kits were provided to 18 schools located in communities that face significant challenges in Jerusalem, Ramallah, Hebron, and Bethlehem. Education Cannot Wait supported in making this initiative possible through the Multi-Year Resilience Programme.
Learning materials play a pivotal role in supporting the development of children by equipping them with the necessary tools and resources to enhance their educational journey. This significance is especially evident for children in Palestine, who encounter obstacles in accessing education due to the protracted conflict and ongoing crisis they face.
